dc.descriptionIn February 2015, at a United Nations (UN) summit, President Juan Manuel Santos Caderón raised the possi­bility of Colombia participating more actively and numerously in Peacekeeping Operations (PKO). From that moment on, numerous studies have analyzed the national political situation and what the implications of this participation would be, as well as the experiences that Chile, Brazil, Uruguay, among other countries in the hemisphere, have had in these operations. However, it has not been addressed how the Colombian Military Forces, which have been involved in a non-international conflict for more than sixty years, could achieve the international standards required to be an integral part of this type of missions.en-US
dc.descriptionEn febrero del 2015, en una cumbre de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU), el presidente Juan Manuel Santos Caderón planteó la posibilidad de que Colombia participara de forma más activa y numerosa en las Operaciones de Mantenimiento de Paz (OMP). A partir de ese momento, numerosos estudios han analizado la situación política nacional y cuáles serían las implicaciones de esta participación, así como las experiencias que han tenido Chile, Brasil, Uruguay, entre otros países del hemisferio, en estas operaciones. Sin embargo, no se ha abordado de qué manera las Fuerzas Militares colombianas, que han estado involucradas en un conflicto de carácter no internacional durante más de sesenta años, podrían alcanzar los estándares internacionales requeridos para formar parte integral de este tipo de misiones.  es-ES
