dc.descriptionThe Houthi terrorist group is carrying out attacks on military and commercial vessels sailing in the Red Sea region and the Gulf of Aden. From their perspective, they do so in order to support the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip and against Israel, and thus to economically affect the United States and the United Kingdom for their support to the Jewish nation. This article, through a documentary review and its respective analysis, puts into context the motivation of the Houthi attacks, the global consequences of these attacks on trade and the implications they have for Colombia, and shows that a conflict that happens in a remote region not only affects the local economy, but also national security and defense.en-US
dc.descriptionEl grupo terrorista de los hutíes está realizando ataques a las embarcaciones militares y comerciales que navegan en la región del mar Rojo y el golfo de Adén. Desde su perspectiva, lo hace con el propósito de apoyar al movimiento Hamás de la Franja de Gaza y en contra de Israel, y para de ese modo afectar económicamente a Estados Unidos y al Reino Unido por su apoyo a la nación judía. Este artículo, mediante una revisión documental y su respectivo análisis, pone en contexto la motivación de los ataques hutíes, las consecuencias mundiales de estos ataques al comercio y las implicaciones que tienen para Colombia, y muestra que un conflicto que sucede en una región alejada no solo afecta la economía local, sino también la seguridad y defensa nacionales.es-ES
