This article analyzes the national strategies implemented by the Colombian government to contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 13, focused on climate action. Using a qualitative methodology based on documentary review, the study examines the country’s legal, educational, and institutional progress in climate change mitigation and adaptation. Key achievements include the update of the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), the development of territorial climate change management plans, and the strengthening of the legal framework through laws such as 1931 of 2018 and 2169 of 2021. Furthermore, efforts in environmental education are highlighted, such as the National Environmental Education Plan (PNEA) and programs like "Colombia Carbono Neutral desde la Escuela," aimed at promoting an active environmental citizenship. However, the article identifies significant challenges, including limited funding, weak inter-institutional coordination, unequal coverage in rural areas, and lack of specialized teacher training. Finally, it offers strategic recommendations to enhance climate governance, improve financial mechanisms, promote a just energy transition, and integrate traditional knowledge, all of which are essential for building an effective, inclusive, and territorially relevant climate action agenda.
